I am very pleased to announced that Mimi Lufkin, NAPE CEO, has been named the winner of the 2012 Educator Award presented by Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN). Mimi will receive the 2012 Education Award when WEPAN holds its 23rd Annual Conference, "Getting to the Heart of It All," in Columbus, Ohio from June 25-27. Congratulations, Mimi!

Even with the promise of high-paying jobs, MPS students have no interest in welding and little interest in manufacturing careers in general, according to Superintendent Gregory Thornton. MPS has created 10 career clusters for high school students to study if they are interested, manufacturing being one of them.
