#DearBetsy Twitter Storm

June 23 marks the 45th anniversary of Title IX, the landmark civil rights law that makes it illegal for schools to discriminate against students because of their sex. We’ve come a long way since 1972, but there’s more work to be done to protect the rights of students in school—especially in this political climate. Since her confirmation, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos has either refused to commit to enforcing Title IX or has undermined protections for communities facing some of the highest rates of gender-based violence and harassment. As a community, we must make it clear that Title IX enforcement is not debatable or optional- it’s mandatory.

Join us and our partners at Know Your IX and End Rape on Campus on Thursday June 22nd from 2-3 PM ET for a #DearBetsy twitter storm as we lift up the communities that rely on Title IX and urge Secretary DeVos to do her job by enforcing Title IX protections. Huge shout out to Know Your IX and EROC for developing such a dynamic hashtag and platform for DeVos-centered campaigns!
