State Lists of Nontraditional CTE Programs
for Perkins Accountability
US mapPerkins IV requires states to track student participation in and completion of CTE programs that lead to nontraditional training and employment. Participation and completion rates are based on the number of students who enroll in or complete a state-identified career and technical education program that prepares them for a nontraditional career. To assist LEAs in identifying these students, states often provide LEAs with a crosswalk that relates nontraditional occupations and career and technical educational programs. LEAs can then use this information to identify programs that prepare students for nontraditional careers and report the numbers of students of the underrepresented gender who are participating or completing those programs.

States identify nontraditional occupations by several means, including using 1) state-specific data collected by a state department of economic development or other employment agency, or 2) national data collected by the U.S. Department of Labor. Some states might use the SOC/CIP/Cluster/Pathway crosswalk that NAPE developed and has made available.

In its 2009 Perkins IV Implementation Survey, NAPE asked the State Directors of Career and Technical Education to provide their lists of state-identified nontraditional programs. NAPE is posting these lists on this website for the sole purpose of providing information to its members. Please direct any questions about a state's list to that state's NAPE contact person. Contact information is available at NAPE's state member contact page and the non-member state contact page.
