Celebrating Innovations in Career and Technical Education Event

On Tuesday, June 30, NAPE Public  Policy Director attended the Celebrating Innovations in Career and Technical Education Event, hosted by the White House in partnership with OCTAE.

As part of her Reach Higher initiative, first lady Michelle Obama delivered remarks and recognized students and educators for their work connecting the classroom to real-life career opportunities.

Students and educators selected through a competitive process attended the event. The White House showcased student projects and lead discussions with education leaders, business and industry representatives, and policy makers on expanding and replicating the best CTE programs.

This event follows the release of an executive order expanding the United States Presidential Scholars Program to establish a new category of outstanding scholars in CTE.
