Author Alan Blankstein to speak at NSEE

alan_head_2NAPE is pleased to announce that award-winning author and educational leader Alan Blankstein will provide the keynote speech during the closing luncheon of its 2016 National Summit for Educational Equity. During his speech on Thursday, April 14, 2016, titled  “Excellence Through Equity: Five Principles of Courageous Leadership to Guide Achievement for Every Student,” Alan will lay out the new paradigm for success with every student, as exemplified by numerous award-winning schools, districts, provinces, and even countries.

Immediately following the luncheon, Alan will sign copies of his book, Excellence Through Equity: Five Principles of Courageous Leadership to Guide Achievement for Every Student, which will be available for purchase.

Alan served for 25 years as president of the HOPE Foundation. A former “high-risk” youth, he began his career in education as a music teacher. He worked for Phi Delta Kappa, March of Dimes, and Solution Tree, which he founded in 1987 and directed for 12 years while launching Professional Learning Communities. He is the author of the best-selling book Failure Is Not an Option®: Six Principles That Guide Student Achievement in High-Performing Schools. Alan is senior editor, lead contributor, and/or author of 18 books and has authored 20 articles in leading education journals.
